We strongly recommend that a piano tuning is not done until the piano has settled into its new location which takes approximately 4 weeks.. After moving a piano even a small distance the instrument will need time to adapt. We have often be called to an appointment to repair a piano with sticking notes, only to find that the piano has recently been moved. This is a waste of money, as on some occasions the notes will unstick themselves as the piano adapts to its new environment.
If you are regularly moving a piano perhaps in a school or theatre location, we strongly recommend fitting suitable piano castors and using a piano cover to protect the instument. We can also supply a piano key to keep the piano secure.
